I visited DAS Center in February for a 10-day retreat, for the second consecutive time (2012). In previous reviews, there is already a lot of useful information about the center’s good organization, so I will just briefly comment on what I value most:

I consider the leader of the center, Yaguar Ura (Percy), to be a very powerful shaman who offers his love and compassion to DAS visitors, creating a safe environment to relax, process and integrate the issues that arise, and to heal.

Each person must make the most of this safe environment by clearly formulating the issue they wish to address. This requires personal honesty and a focus on self-healing, and the entire center will provide all the necessary support.

Master Yaguar Ura is building a bridge of peace so that all foreigners can understand not only the cultural differences but also the spiritual realities we come from.

The facilities and structure of the center, the privacy of one’s personal space during the stay in the jungle (a great support), vegetarian food prepared with love and creativity, very kind staff, and cats to enjoy their company if one wishes.

The center is constantly evolving to create a more comfortable environment for all future visitors, and this approach is more than evident. I trust this place completely with my issues, and on both occasions, I was amazed by the help I received. I will definitely return and recommend this place to anyone who is ready to take responsibility for their issues and face them. This is the place.

Healing DAS is an extraordinary place to do deep inner work and receive true healing. I battled an addiction that was destroying me for over 20 years. After four visits to DAS and two years of healing with Maestro Yaguar Percy, I’ve now been completely sober for almost a year.

During my last visit in November 2018, I also managed to quit benzodiazepines after 15 years of use and several failed attempts to stop. I’m now three months free of them. I spent 10 days at Healing DAS nearly a year ago, and I'm still integrating the profound lessons I received during that time. The experience didn’t end when I left the center—it planted a seed within me that continues to blossom in my daily life.

I recently returned from a trip to Iquitos, where I participated in ayahuasca ceremonies with several shamans—and I can say with complete certainty that Healing DAS was, by far, the most authentic and transformative place. The presence of Maestro Percy during the ceremonies is truly luminous; under the effects of the medicine, his face takes on an almost angelic glow. I experienced this as a clear sign that he is a true healer—guided by light and fully devoted to the path of healing.

I returned to DAS for the second time  and had an incredible experience. The plant dieta I did was extremely powerful, and it helped me to make an unbelievable amount of progress in the two weeks of my stay.

I am especially grateful to Percy and Dhyana, who worked hard with me, both in and out of ceremonies, as well as the rest of the staff (Ruth- thank you for preparing healthy and delicious food every day, Jose, for taking care of the grounds, and Zeby the dog, for comforting post ceremony cuddles).

My experience went beyond healing and was far more expansive than I previously conceived possible. Percy is an experienced, skilful, humble and gentle curandero who works with the utmost respect and integrity for his medicine. Dhyana, as a ceremonial companion and guide (that’s an understatement…there’s honestly no way of capturing the extent of Dhyana’s consciousness here), will enable you to squeeze every drop out of your time at DAS. In late October 2024 I visited Shaman Yaguar Ura, at the Ayahuasca Dios in Iquitos for three ceremonies over six days. This was my second visit to the retreat after also visiting in 2021 for the same duration and number of ceremonies, my only other time experiencing the medicine. I felt after 3 years I had extrapolated and internalized the many lessons imparted on me by the Spirits from the first visit, and was ready for another journey. For those looking for an authentic experience, I wholeheartedly recommend heading to healing DAS retreat. The ceremonial space is located a 45 min drive from the Iquitos airport and another 30 mins flat, sometimes muddy hike into the Amazon rainforest. There is no cell reception or electricity so you are truly off the grid, which allows one to focus all of their energy on healing free from distractions. The price is reasonable, likely because there are no additional bells and whistles. Guests are provided with their own private hut containing a bed, mosquito net and toilet. Beyond that you are immersed in the Amazon experience with all the sights and sounds of the various creatures that inhabit the surrounding areas. Accommodations are simple and comfortable. Meals are served three times a day or sometimes two when there is a ceremony. The food is home cooked on site with a nice variety of meals and juices, and never disappoints. After my first journey to visit healingDAS, I had several life altering revelations. Not that I was provided all the answers, but more so that I was provided the guidance to find the answers I was looking for through a lot of hard work, self-reflection, mindfulness and self-improvement. I held out hope that the second trip out would be equally as fulfilling but it exceeded all expectations. Each ceremony was masterfully conducted by Yaguar Ura, who remained every bit as attentive as he was during my previous visit. I heard about Ayahuasca Dios through three different friends (we are in the same line of work) who had visited individually over the past decade, and all three reported the same glowing reviews, so it’s reassuring to know Shaman Yahuar Ura isn’t complacent in the least. He sings icaros, occasionally playing guitar with great talent and passion. I left Iquitos this past time having explored new, deeper parts of me that have given me a lot to work towards. I made spiritual connections that only 3 years ago would have seemed beyond the realm of possibility to me. All three ceremonies allowed me to fully connect to Aya. I experienced intense visions, and while difficult at times, all three left me entirely euphoric and at peace once I worked through the purge. If you’re looking for a truly authentic experience, there is no better place than visiting Yaguar Ura. He has immense respect for the practice and creates a nurturing environment for Mother Aya to do Her work. Keep in mind, a crucial part of the journey is the work you do before and after experiencing the medicine. I will be visiting Yaguar Ura again when I next feel the calling. I feel such an attachment to Yahuar Ura and the land that I would find it difficult to visit another center. I hope to bring many friends along for the ride.
